  • Thrust/Journal System (CH)

    Thrust/Journal System (CH)

    PRODUCT DETAIL :

Kingsbury’s CH Bearing System consists of a NDE unit featuring a flange-mounted housing with an equalized thrust bearing and a journal bearing shell, and a DE unit without a thrust bearing. The CH System is unique because it is completely self-contained, thereby eliminating the need for an external lube skid, emergency pump, accumulator, rundown tank or other special arrangements for oil lubrication.

The self-contained CH System is economical for industrial pump applications because it:

    • Eliminates the need for an external lube skid
    • Does not require a backup lube system
    • Simplifies engineering and maintenance
    • Uses air, fresh water or sea water for cooling

  • Pedestal-Mounted Thrust/Journal (PMH)

    Pedestal-Mounted Thrust/Journal (PMH)

    PRODUCT DETAIL :

Kingsbury’s PMH Units were specifically designed for horizontal hydro turbines requiring fluid film thrust bearings and journal bearings complete with pedestal-mounted housings. The active thrust bearing is invariably equipped with Kingsbury’s leveling plates to assure equal distribution of the heavy loads often found in such applications, and the axial length of the journal bearings can be easily adjusted depending on the mass of the rotor and radial load to be borne.

    PRODUCT DETAIL :

    Benefits & Features:

Our standard sizes and designs make selection easy and efficient. All standard parts are babbitt-lined, steel-backed and manufactured to ISO standards. Our standard babbitt material is ASTM: B23 Grade 2, but many other grades and types are available. Thrust capacity up to 1.7 MPa times the active thrust area can be provided on KN thick wall bearings or by separate thrust washers. For higher loads and faster sliding speeds, tilting pad bearings should be considered. For the most part, these plain flat land bearings are perfect for lower speed, moderate load applications and provide a reliable alternative to more expensive bearing styles. Polymer linings are available to extend performance limits, to operate with non-oil lubricants such as water, or to be used in harsh environments.

  • Tilting Pad Thrust – Directed Lubrication

Tilting Pad Thrust – Directed Lubrication
Tilting Pad Thrust – Directed Lubrication

    PRODUCT DETAIL :

These bearings direct the lubricant from an opening in the base ring to the leading edge of the shoes, where a thicker wedge of oil begins to develop. With this method, just enough oil is supplied to enable the bearing to run efficiently. The key benefits of directed lubrication technology are:

    • Reliable operation with lower oil flow requirements
    • Reduced power losses, particularly at higher speeds
    • Lower operating temperatures, especially at higher speeds
    • Significantly increased load capacity

Tilting Pad Thrust – Flooded Lubrication

    PRODUCT DETAIL :

Flooded hydrodynamic bearings, which are typically split for assembly around a rotating shaft, float the machine’s axial load on a self-renewing film of oil. The oil film provides shock absorption and helps to control vibration.

Kingsbury flooded thrust pad bearings are used in many different applications including:

    • Generators
    • Turbines (steam, hydraulic, and gas)
    • Pumps (dredge, deep well, boiler feed and cooling types)
    • Compressors
    • Electric motors
